Dear Solivita Residents,
Thank you for raising the topic of court allocation during your recent General Membership Meeting. We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification and reiterate the original intention behind delegating scheduling responsibilities to the Solivita Smashers Pickleball Club
Clarifying the Original intent
When Avatar Properties (Solivita Club) first entrusted the Smashers Pickleball Club with the responsibility of managing court schedules, the goal was to support the growth of an active, inclusive, and engaging pickleball community for all Solivita residents. The delegation was intended to encourage a fair and diverse range of play opportunities–not to establish permanent court assignments for individual teams or members.
Allocating courts on a long-term or indefinite basis restricts overall access and runs counter to the spirit of shared amenities that serve the entire community.
Next Steps
To ensure the courts remain welcoming and accessible to all residents, we kindly ask that the practice of assigning courts permanently to specific teams or individuals be discontinued, effective immediately.
All courts will return to open play until further notice to ensure fair access for all.
To help create a revised and balanced scheduling process, we are seeking committee members representing the following groups:
- Training
- Team Play
- Ladders
- Open Play
- Board of Directors
We have asked Wayne Fullerton to take the lead in reaching out to each of these groups to help identify (1) representative who can serve on the committee. Once representatives are confirmed and feedback is collected, our team will review the input and share a new schedule with all club members.
We believe these steps will help strengthen the inclusive, community-driven spirit of pickleball at Solivita.
Thank you again for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards, Nora Schuster, Avatar Properties
