Dear Solivita Smashers Members,
We want to update you on a recent announcement from Taylor Morrison, titled “Clarification Regarding Pickleball Court Allocation at Solivita,” which was sent to all residents Thursday, July 31st.
This is a pivotal moment for our club, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to shape our own future. We have the chance to come together and build a solid foundation for a fair process moving forward, rather than having one delegated to us.
We will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, August 5th, in the Starlight Ballroom starting at 1 PM. As requested in the Taylor Morrison message, the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the formation of a committee that will help develop a new court allocation plan. This plan will be designed to fully comply with the request to create a fair and equitable scheduling process. This is our chance to determine our future together. We look forward to your participation and valuable input as we create a solution that works for everyone.

Key Information from the Taylor Morrison Announcement
The message from Taylor Morrison directly addresses the relationship between our club and the community, emphasizing a shared goal to encourage a fair and diverse range of play opportunities for everyone.
The key change is that Taylor Morrison has ended the practice of permanently allocating courts to specific teams or individuals. This new approach went into effect immediately with yesterday’s message.
Until the club submits to Taylor Morrison a revised and balanced scheduling process, all courts will be used for open play. This means any member can play on any court by placing their paddle in the queue.
It is important to understand that this change does not eliminate any of the ways we use the courts today. Instead, it asks the club to find a court allocation process that ensures equitable access for all residents, accommodating different styles of play, including Ladders, Training, team play, and open play.
We will continue to keep you informed as we participate in this process.
Thank you,
The Solivita Smashers Board
