As you may have noticed, the work crews are back at the Palms redoing the court repairs and we are hoping to get those courts back by June.
We want to thank all of you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility during the move to open play for the duration of the repair process. We have received positive feedback from members that they are enjoying playing with different players and at different times of the day.
There have been some issues, as expected, with court utilization and level of play. The volunteers who are monitoring the courts are not there to assign players to courts and all players need to self-assess their abilities with the Ladders and DUPR levels as a guideline. As a rule of thumb, if you are winning more than half your games, you should move to a more advanced court and likewise, if you are losing more than half your games, you should consider moving down to a less advanced court.
Also, if a court is empty and no one is queued up to play, a foursome may use that court even if it is not for your level, but you need to finish your game as quickly as possible and vacate the court if correct skill level players show up wanting to use it.
